Pinlock vizieren
Met een Pinlock vizier is een beslagen vizier voor eens en altijd verleden tijd. Dit flexibele viziertje plaats je aan de binnenkant van het helmvizier en zorgt voor helder zicht tijdens koude, regenachtige of vochtige omstandigheden.

Over het Pinlock systeem
De Engelsman Derek Arnold bedacht het Pinlock systeem nadat hij zelf last kreeg van een beslagen vizier tijdens een race op het TT Circuit in Assen, ruim twintig jaar geleden. Coureurs plakten toen losse velletjes aan de buitenkant van hun vizier om het helder te houden, maar dat bleek verre van ideaal.
Arnold ontwikkelde een vergelijkbare oplossing voor de binnenkant van het vizier: een lens die met twee pinnetjes wordt bevestigd en een dunne luchtlaag creëert om condens te voorkomen. Dat idee groeide uit tot het Pinlock systeem dat vandaag de standaard is bij vrijwel elk helmenmerk.

Veelgestelde vragen over pinlock vizieren
Een Pinlock is een extra lens van helder, organisch materiaal die aan de binnenkant van je helmvizier wordt bevestigd met twee pinnetjes. Dankzij het siliconen randje sluit de lens luchtdicht af en voorkomt zo dat je vizier beslaat.
Tussen de Pinlock lens en het vizier ontstaat een dunne luchtlaag, vergelijkbaar met dubbel glas. Deze luchtkamer voorkomt dat het temperatuurverschil tussen binnen- en buitenkant te groot wordt, waardoor het vizier niet beslaat.
Het doel van een Pinlock vizier is om condensvorming tegen te gaan. Zo blijft je zicht helder tijdens koude, regenachtige of vochtige omstandigheden en kun je het vizier gesloten houden zonder dat het aanslaat.
Een Pinlock vizier gaat gemiddeld zo'n 2 jaar mee, bij intensief gebruik kan de levensduur minder zijn.
